[upbeat bouncy instrumental introduction]
(Kristine): Hi, I’m Kristine and thanks for joining us for
Clearly the Best Stamping with Close To My Heart.
(Monica): And I’m Monica and today’s show is about Dauber Dynamite.
(Kristine): Woo hoo. (Monica): Getting precision colors with our daubers.
(Kristine): Yep, absolutely right. In fact I’ve got three of
them already ready here to go. You can see some of this darling
party artwork that we have surrounding us. I’m gonna work on this
fun Alex name place card. See how cute that is, fun rainbow (Monica): That’s the rainbow! So beautiful!
effect. How do you get the rainbow effect? With a little dauber dynamite.
(Kristine): I’m going to show you how. I’m working in Pear,
Lagoon, and Sunset today so I’ve got my pads already opened up.
(Monica): Bright colors, and so different. (Kristine): And ready to go, yeah.
(Monica): totally different colors so that, that’s the trick. (Kristine): And we’re going to teach you how to mix them
with a little magic. These are our great Sponge Daubers, they
fit over your finger. You’ll want to get them good and saturated. (Monica): I like having a dauber for every ink that I have.
(Kristine): So how dark it is. Yeah I think that is a good way to
go, too, so we’ll get it good and juicy. I’m just going to ink up
the very top, I’m gonna work down — am I working up to down?
You bet I am. Up to down. I think I could. (Monica): (Laughs) I think you can work it any way you want, Kristine.
(Kristine): That’s the thing: I am going to work it any way I want.
I’m going to add my green at the very top of my word and I’m
gonna move over. Working with the Trinity alphabet, which is an (Monica): Lagoon. One of my favorite colors.
awesome alphabet set, super versatile, kind of works with everything.
(Monica): And now all this artwork was cut with the Artiste
Cricut® Cartridge. (Kristine): Yes, that’s another thing to point out is that it is
very Artiste, and the thing that’s nice about the Artiste cartridge
is that so many of the like projects are grouped together so
that just by using one or two keys, you can find a lot of
themed artwork like this party collection. (Monica): Right, so this whole party collection just out of the
Artiste Cricut® Collection. That’s wonderful. (Kristine): And just one or two keys on that cartridge. Okay, so
I’m just about finished inking up my Alex. Now because it has
taken me a minute, one of the great things about water-based
dye or dye-based inks, um, they are water-based and that’s that
I can remoisten it and kind of reactive the ink if it’s been
drying for a minute. So just a quick, yep, it will do it great. (Monica): And it stays. So just breathe on it.
(Kristine): It will do it great and I can actually see that I
need a little bit more ink on my E. (Monica): Because our stamps are clear...
(Kristine): ...are see through... (Monica): and our blocks are clear too. So it makes it perfect.
(Kristine): Makes it so easy. So I’m gonna position it exactly
where I want it on this fun little bracket frame and then press
down nice and evenly and I’ve got my VersaMat. It’s going to
give me that fun pebbled texture. Look how pretty that looks. (Monica): Oh! So cute!
(Kristine): So it really goes a nice light to dark and then I
apply it here. Now you’ve got some other great pieces here to
show us using that same technique. (Monica): I do have some great pieces. Here we’ve got this
cup...cupcake topper and of course the liner which again, was all (Kristine): Uh, huh.
(Monica): cut with the Artiste and I’ve done the sponge dauber
technique as well on the medallion. And all the pieces here were (Kristine): So cute.
(Monica): stamped with coordinating stamp sets that come with the
Cricut® Artiste. Yep. And then I’ve got this cute little party (Kristine): Nice.
(Monica): hat. You can see I’ve used the same technique and,
of course, this this beautiful banner. Every single piece cut
(Monica): from the Cricut® Artiste. Yep, so... (Kristine): I love the yo-yos. They’re some of my favorite.
(Kristine): Well, and I’ve got a few other fun pieces that use
kind of a variation on the theme. So first I’d like to show you
my cupcake card. The cupcake card you can see I’ve still done
selective inking. The great thing about working with daubers is (Monica): Right.
you can put the ink exactly where you want. Now a lot of these
pieces have used that rainbow technique but here I applied the
Lagoon to the cupcake base and then I kind of mixed my sprinkles
with the Pear and the Sunset. So that’s just a little bit
different look and then, of course, I’ve got my party popper right
here. And I don’t know if you can see this, but this is one
stamp, the ‘Thanks’ is one stamp, but I’ve chosen to sponge dauber
just the sentiment in the orange and then I’ve done the word (Monica): Right.
(Kristine): bubble in the green, all with just one impression. (Monica): And the popper was also cut from the Artiste.
(Kristine): You know it was. You know it was. (Monica): Well, if you want to catch the rainbow with our
