This declaration in Connecticut,
we very much appreciate FEMA's efforts,
in this issue, this time. I can
say that I think the state has learned
how to respond better communicate better.
We will continue to work, people will
see recover, we will make progress.
I want to thank the Administrator for
coming here. There's no substitute for
boots on the ground and I think that
his spending the time and being a
presence here, is really invaluable to
us as well as to him. As he put it,
FEMA is about fixing and repairing and
Connecticut needs more of it.
Where you guys are I think is,
the fact is when you get outside the
area of damage, you've got everything
back to normal, then the next thing
is the housing. The support from where
we stand is really what are you going
to need in addition to things we know
about. What kind of mitigation strategies
how do you want to build some
resiliancy in here.
I simply want to say that you have
assembled a wonderful team here in
Connecticut. They are performing at
a truly superior level, I'm hearing
that from the folks that are inter-
acting with your folks on a daily basis.
We're very grateful for your leadership
and want to thank you very much.
