I shall not want!
I shall not want provision, I shall not want peace,
I shall not want grace, I shall not want love, I shall not want rest,
I shall not want deliverance, I shall not want forgiveness,
I shall not want protection,
I shall not want miracles,
I shall not want resources,
I shall not want.
But why some of us, for many times are faced with situations
which we have lack of something? There is one thing...
only at the moment that the Lord becomes our Shepherd is that I shall not want
If I shall want something, maybe the reason is the Lord
has not been your Shepherd.
Here is made an allusion of a Lord: Jesus, as a Shepherd,
and we, his people, the sheep.
What does the Shepherd make with the sheep at first?
He guides it. He drives the sheep. Who has guided your life?
Who has drived your life? The Lord?
Who have guided your decision? Who have guided your relationships?
Which ways have you walked? By the ways of the Lord?
By the biblical's principles ways? If it's Jesus', if He is your
Shepherd, ie, your guide, then, I shall not want.
But if the Lord has not been your Shepherd,
has not been your guide, then, I'm able to beleive that is
the reason why something is missing to you.
Why does he makes an allusion of a Shepherd with the sheep?
Do you know the sheep?
They are fragile animals, helpless, weak, that don't have much sense,
are bewildered, don't have sense of direction, small,
and totally dependent, needing of a Shepherd that protect them, that guide them
that feed them, that uphold them. We are like the sheep.
The first thing that a Shepherd does with the flock.
Is to guide them, conduce them, and where to? Jesus conduces the flock.
Where does He takes you?
He takes the flock and ''lie down in green pastures''.
He conduces the sheep to the food. What does He makes with the sheep?
He feeds the sheep. He satisfies the hunger of the sheep,
He brings satisfaction. And what is this?
Realization, completeness, only Jesus can bring it to us.
''Makes me lie down in green pastures''. Abundant pastures, until the sheep eats
and be satisfied, and complete itself.
You will be complete only with Jesus.
He satisfies your soul, He fills your soul,
He completes your soul.
He fills the emptiness, that is what Jesus made when brought you
from the emptiness, dryness, unhappiness, valueless, existential vacuum.
And He says: feed yourself, fill yourself, complete youself.
So that the sheep gets satisfied, completed,
realized, that is what Christ does.
After that, ''He guides me to the quiet waters".
We were in trouble, timely, and disturbed waters.
He is talking about the human inner, emotional wounds,
emotional traumas, inner sequelae, disturbance, trouble waters,
tribulation. Why? When the sheep is withdrawn from the world
and brought to the Shepherd's fold, it comes injured, hurt, dirty of clay, full
of bur, it comes destroyed to the Shepherd.
What the Shepherd does? He takes the bur off, takes the dirt off,
memories of the past, cleans the clay, the mudo of sin,
and cover the wounds with oil. The oil is the Holy Spirit.
Inner peace is what Jesus gives us when we go to Him.
Peace in the spirit, heal of the emotional wounds, and inner healing
which is the deasease of the century. It's not the money, or welfare,
it's the inner peace. Guides me to the quiet waters, in other words
guides me in a gently way, carefully. Why gently? Oh God, Jesus is wonderful.
The Shepherd is not in condiction to be overwhelmed,
its is hurt, broken, limping. Guides'me gently... He treats the sheep carefully.
Heals the core of you where is hidden all men's evil.
But He comes gently, carefully, gets you out of the disturbance
and brings you to the quiet waters Here it means that God provides you peace,
inner peace, there is no condemnation.
There is no fault. The first things has passed, and
He dropped the sin in the sea of forgetfulness, and gives you a new life,
He receives you, accept you, heal you,
comforts you. Heals, closes the wounds, in a way that
they will not be opened anymore,
that negative thing from the past will not affect you anymore.
In Christ you will have inner peace, emotional heal, inner heal.
''He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.''
And I will end here.
What is the truth? The Shepherd will conduces you to the way of truth.
Will free your feet from mistake, from lies. This is what Jesus does.
You were walking to hell. And God took you and said: this is the path
of righteousness. The path of truth. This is what He does.
Guides us for this paths. Free us from deception. Free us from the lie.
Free us from the blindness and guides us to all the truth.
What is this way? All other ways are earthly
and the end of them is the condemnation. But not this way (the path of the Lord),
this is an espiritual way.
He guides me trough this path, and it takes me to the eternity,
to the heaven, that is why the psalmist says that He guides me
trough the paths of righteousness, ie,
for His ways, for His judgments, precepts, statutes and laws, because they
will save me, they will free me from the deception, the lie, they keep me
firm, always in the paths of righteousness, and it will take me to the eternity.
