We're trying to make One *ICO file with multiple resolutions for a website (and for Free!).
First we need our ICO files to merge together that we created in GIMP or Photoshop (with
a plugin-- outside the scope of this video). So we have our three .ico files in different
sizes, 48 pixels square, 32 and 16. We're gonna use a free app for the Mac called Icollator,
a very simple app (you can't even drag files into it). You have to go to file > Add ico
files. Locate them and you can see their info and just click Save, type a name, and it will
create one .ico file with multiple resolutions in it. And that's it! We're gonna double check
with a paid app called Icon Slate, which does merging and more-- great app if you do a lot
of this. So we open it [the file we just created] with Icon Slate and you can see it has transparency
and three resolutions in that one icon file.
