The PeopleSoft Asset Management WorkCenter is easy-to-use and helps your Asset Clerks and Asset Accountants proactively monitor and
control asset transactions using key alerts, queries, links, reports, and processes. The dashboard presents your work as metrics of
asset acquisition, cost, depreciation and disposals.
The My Work pagelet shows you a list of links that represent pending transactions from other applications such as PeopleSoft Purchasing and
Accounts Payable. This pagelet also lists exception monitoring queries.
The number next to each hyperlink shows you the number of pending transactions or processing exceptions.
If there are no exception items for a link, the exception is grayed out and you can’t select the exception link.
Use the Pending Depreciation Calculation grid in the transaction area to drill down to transaction details and take any needed actions. Let’s take
a look at the transaction area so we can see the details of transactions pending depreciation calculation.
From here, you can run the depreciation calculation for a single business unit by clicking the Run Process icon. You can also calculate
depreciation for multiple business units using the Run Depreciation Calculation button.
A pop-up window shows the process status with a process instance number. Close the window to return to the transaction area.
Selecting the refresh icon updates the information in the WorkCenter, including the pending depreciation calculation pagelet. Now,
you can see that only one business unit is listed as pending.
You can review transaction details before you run the depreciation calculation process. Select the Business Unit to see the details in the
Pending Transaction Details grid. You can also perform related actions by clicking the Action dropdown on each of the asset lines.
After reviewing pending transaction details, you can run the depreciation calculation process for selected asset transactions. Here, you can see
that while some customers have only one book, others have multiple books. In this example, when you select the primary asset book, you
can see that the system automatically selects the secondary book linked to the asset.
To initiate the calculation process, click the Run Depreciation Calculation button at the bottom of the grid.
A pop-up window shows you the process status and a process instance number.
The Links pagelet enables you to go to PeopleSoft components or external URLs so that you can add, review, or update asset
information from within the WorkCenter.
Using the Queries pagelet, you can view delivered queries and pivot grids that enable you to monitor month-end reconciliations, and
identify assets that require attention.
Here, when you click a query or pivot grid, the transaction area shows you the results. You can refine your query results using several search
criteria and pivot grid results using pre-defined filters.
With the help of the Reports and Processes pagelet, you can quickly access key processes and reports to reduce your navigation time.
