Welcome to G-TV! Today, I will be showing you how to build IDEC’s LT 7 SignaLight
Towers. IDEC’s LT 7 series combines innovative LED technology with a six-color, modular-style
assembly. Stackable and interchangeable modules make it easy to make changes and modify combinations
even after it’s installed on your machine. The LT7 product range provides brilliant illumination
for all the lens colors. The unique prism cut design enhances the brightness and ensures
outstanding levels of visibility from any direction and distance. For this series, you
have an option to choose between a steady on base or flashing and steady on base in
either AC or DC voltage configurations. This base here is a steady on 24 volts DC unit.
In the flashing bases, you will have the option of an alarm function that is unavailable in
the steady on base. The base unit here comes with a top cover, a body, terminal clocks,
volume control, a water proof gasket and mounting screws. Before you begin assembly, make sure
the device is not connected to any power source. I will begin my unit assembly by removing
the top cover from the body. Make sure the o-ring is mounted here, and align the locating
mark of the LED unit with the body and place it together. Then slightly turn to secure
the connection. You can stack up to five lights by repeating this process. When you are finished
with your desired color configuration, line up the top cover with the LED on the top.
Then turn to secure. The symbols should be aligned like this. To wire up the device,
remove the body from the base unit. Use a screwdriver to push down the spring terminal
and Insert the common wire into the yellow terminal number 8. If you have a model that
can be put in a flashing operation, you will plug your common into the gray terminal number
9. Terminals 6 and 7 here are for alarm functions. If your unit comes with this function, you
can put your hot wire in here to activate the buzzer. Terminals 1 through 5 are color
coded to your LED configuration. Inserting the hot wire into the green terminal will
light up the green light, inserting the wire into the red terminal will do the same for
the red light, and so on. You can use all the terminals here to program your lights
to operate in any number of configurations. IDEC’s LT 7 SignaLight Towers, along with
thousands of other products and services, are available at galco.com.
