Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I'll be showing you how
to layout and cut out our back support pieces. If we take a look on our original drawing,
our back support piece is going to go along that angled side. The measurement for that
is 1 feet 5 3/4 inches, so that's how wide my back support is going to be. Our sides
have been cut to 40 inches which we cut earlier. So that's going to go from our desktop all
the way to the top of our desk here. I know that I want 24 inches to be left for the monitor
and whatever is remaining will go on that upper section. On our lower back support,
again it's going to be 24 inches high by our width which is 1 feet 5 3/4 inches. When I
calculate out what the upper section should be I get 14 1/2 inches tall by our width.
My upper back section and lower section are going to be taken out of the same sheet that
I cut my shelf and my top from. Now, since I've already cut these other pieces out, I
can just make any cut that makes it best and easiest to cut my shelves out. You always
want to make sure and double check all of your measurements before you make any cuts.
Now that our two back support pieces have been cut we are ready to cut our trim.
