Oh boy I think I'm in love again. This is one of the nicest laptops
I have ever seen and I desire it. I want it.
This is an incredible laptop. This is the Y650 from Lenovo
and it's incredible. I just can't get over it.
First of all it's one of the thinnest and lightest
16 inch notebooks in the world.
Look at that. Look at that profile.
Look at that right there. Extremely thin, extremely light
I mean take a look at that. It is incredible. This thing
Weighs 5.6 pounds. For a 16 inch notebook
that's ridiculous. Just to give you
an idea, my Gateway, that 17 inch that I have
is almost 9 pounds. It weighs like a truck.
This thing is so light. Now another thing
that is really cool about it is the display.
It's not a regular display It is a 16 inch display
and it's 1366 by 768 and if you do the math
that's a 16 by 9 aspect ratio. That means none of that
16 by 10 stuff. You can watch
a widescreen 720P movie on here, full screen, no letter bars, nothing.
Another thing that's really interesting
is it's LED backlit. So you're going
to get great battery life and it looks really really sharp.
So that's very very awesome. I'm very excited about that.
Another thing that's great about it
is that it's extremely powerful. It's got a big hard drive,
lots of memory, but it's also great for multimedia
and it does that with a couple of things.
First of all Dolby Home Theater is on here
and secondly is the speakers. If you like right there
see if you can zoom in all the way to the little logo.
It's got 2 JBL speakers and they're 2 watters
and they sound absolutely incredible.
Another thing I noticed about this is just the incredible layout
of this laptop. First of all if you look over your IdeaPad
it lights up. I don't know if you can tell but it's blue.
It's so cool. It's all white, huge palm rest, ok?
Huge palm rest, very nice keyboard.
This material doesn't get dirty, so don't worry about that.
Huge, huge track pad with multi-touch capability
so you can use 2 fingers to scroll
or you can use a side bar to scroll.
You can do horizontal scrolling.
You have a big, huge touch pad with 2 buttons
and then you have the button right in the middle
to turn the touch pad off. So that just goes to show you
how cool, I mean this design is incredible.
Another things that's really important about this
is the way they got it so light
and that is one of my favorite parts as well
and that's because they used carbon fiber to make the shell
on the outside. So you can't really see it
because it's painted over, but you have
like this rough, rubbery material on the outside over here
and it is extremely cool. There's a very interesting
I'd say octagonal, or what do you call a six-sided? - Hexagon.
A hexagon? Yeah, hexagonal pattern. it's very detailed.
You can barely see it. I don't know if you can see it
on YouTube in the camera right now, it's very dark.
But it looks very very cool, very thin,
and that whole design is very cool plus you get
this squat looking monitor. It looks lower
because it's 16 by 9, and you have this really wide, big area here
you have a keypad, keyboard all the way in the front
and a huge thumb rest, huge track pad,
I really really like it. Now let's talk about specs
because I know you guys like to talk about specs.
First of all P8600, like I said this thing is powerful.
The latest and greatest from the Centrino 2 line.
It is 45NM, it's a 2.4 gigahertz, one of the fastest in the line
for mobile processors right now. It's got 3 megabytes of L2 Cache.
It operates on a 1066 megahertz front side bus.
And speaking of 1066 it has 1066 megahertz DDR3
which is absolutely incredible. 4 gigabytes is on here
which is a lot of memory. You have an HDMI output
integrated GMA 4500 Intel graphics chip set
is on here. You have gigabit LAN N-draft wireless,
6-cell battery, I mean this thing is out of control.
Got a nice webcam right up here at the top, 1.3 megapixel.
And also if you know Lenovo then you know they're very famous
for their VeriFace Technology which lets you
log into the computer using your face.
There is no biometric reader on here,
it's just this camera and that takes a picture of you.
What's also really cool is if you're logged into this camera,
I'm sorry into this laptop and you don't have the face
to get you in, you can leave a message for the user
of the laptop so when he comes back
he can see who left him a message,
who tried to get into the computer,
left him a message there or you can do it secretly
and find out who was trying to get into your notebook.
Hey who's this guy that's trying to come up here,
trying to crack your password, couldn't figure it out?
You get to find his picture and then you know
what you got to do? You kick him in the face
for trying to break into your stuff.
That's no cool, it's not cool.
Alright, so let's keep going. Let's see what else we've got.
Alright here's more cool stuff, it's unbelievable.
Ambient light sensor, ok? You know how you're always
constantly up and down on your monitor brightness
cause you're inside, you're outside,
you're moving between, the sun's rising, it's setting
all this stuff keeps happening, light keeps changing,
why can't they just keep the light at the same,
at the same setting, I don't understand.
This thing automatically configures your monitor for you.
It will lower the brightness if you're in a dark room,
it will increase it if you're outside in the bright light.
That saves you battery, helps the environment,
and helps your eyes. That is all great fantastic stuff.
Has bluetooth which is incredible,
had a DVDRW. It's a Super-Multi and it's in the front
which is kind of weird. It will do everything,
dual layers, Rs, RWs +Rs, -Rs, you name it, it can do it.
It comes pre-loaded with 64 bit Vista Home Premium
so as you can see on the desktop here it's 64-bit.
It's using, factory, right now I have a couple of things running,
about 50 percent of the memory, it has about 74 processes
from factory, and that goes to tell you
the one bad thing I found about it,
it has too much extra software. Lenovo please get rid of
some of that software, but that is not a problem.
That's a good thing. They just give it to you, it's free,
it's like a free key chain. You might not use it,
but you can always throw it away.
You can always uninstall this stuff.
Even with all this stuff running on it
it is still extremely fast. And besides that,
boy I pretty much nailed it all.
This thing is gorgeous. Now, before I leave
even though I'm done I'm going to show you a couple of things.
I'm going to give you a tour around the outside of here.
Now first of all you're going to notice
right over here you've got your power charger
so that's fairly common, fairly useful. You need power.
You got a HDMI output right there,
you've got your VGA output. You've got a USB 2.0 port
and then a fan louver for your graphics and your CPU.
Now on the front, here's where it gets interesting
and cool. You have your on/off for your wi-fi right there.
This right here is a consumer grade IR receiver.
So if you want to use a remote control
for media center or for anything you have that right there.
You have indicator lights for your hard drive,
your battery and for power. This is your DVD drive
like I mentioned earlier and when you move over to this side
you've got some more goodies. Check this out.
You've got Gigabit 10/100/1000 ethernet
to complement that N-Draft wireless,
you are, definitely get some speed
if you go wired. You have a 34 millimeter
ExpressCard slot, expansion slot which is incredible.
eSATA, oh my gosh, incredible and awesome, I love it.
You got input and output for your headset and microphones.
You've got an additional USB 2.0 port
and finally, last but not least you have a card reader
which is actually right underneath here
and it does everything: SD, XD, MMS, MMS Pro.
It does it all, this thing is awesome.
I'm very very very excited and enamored with this laptop
because, mostly because it looks so cool.
I think it's mostly about the looks.
This thing is really hot. One last thing
to go over with you, check this out.
I'm going to show you the layout on the front over here.
Wish I could it up in there but check it out,
power over here, you've got your one-button restore
for the Lenovo's easy restore software,
whatever, if you have a problem and you need to restore
you just hit that button. Up here you have
a couple more indicator lights for batteries, for hard drive,
for wi-fi, for bluetooth. You have one of the microphones
up here to complement the ones at the top.
Your speakers, up and down volume
and a dedicated mute button and finally the last thing
that I'll show you, right up here at the top
there is a touch-sensitive strip and that touch-sensitive strip
turns on a little program so you're going to see
boom, I pulled up a little program
and as I slide over you can pick it
and as soon as it goes orange you let go
and it'll turn on that program and look how fast it turned on.
Very very very cool laptop. Again this is the Lenovo Y650.
This is the version that is the 8343UT
so that's no graphics and the DVD
but if you want to go crazy and off the top
you can go to our website. They have other wi-fi, uh Y650s
that have Blu-Ray drives, they have WiMax,
they have InVidia graphics, I mean unbelievable line.
This is the latest and greatest from Lenovo
straight out of CES 2009 and CeBit 2009.
If you have any questions on it email me and that's it.
