AMANDA CLAIRE: All right, so we've let our screen dry, we let it dry about an hour there
was really maybe no need to let it dry that long but in the meantime, you know I got some
lunch, I was able to go shopping too. I got some a black fabric screenprinting ink that
we didn't have before so we can print in black and I got some shirts some kind of cheap t-shirts
I got about four here so. You know I think with screen printing is, is sometimes it takes
a little bit of practice to kind of get a good print, your first good print till you
really get the feel and the rhythm of it. So you might want to start out on kind of
scrap t-shirts or you know, I don't know old rags or maybe even you know just pieces of
fabric or bandana until you come and get the feel of it before you move to--you know before
you go out and buy brand new shirts. These were cheap. These were like 3 bucks a piece
so I might mess the first one up but anyway did some shopping. Okay, so it's dry and if
you look at it, it now kinda has this uniform kind of appearance to it right where, you
know, before you kinda saw areas that were clear and white and it was kinda modeled.
And now, okay, it's still a little bit modelled but it's dry I mean I can run my hand over
it now, on both sides, front and back and so you can kind of--now it's a lot easier
to see where the ink is going to be going through when you screen print and it's just
kind of wherever--it's basically easier to see through is where the ink is going to get
squeegeed through. So what we're going to do then is we're going to setup a shirt, we're
going to--just do a little overview about what we're going to do, we're going to put
a--this is just kind of a piece of cardboard or whatever it is, paperbag inside the shirt
so that you don't transfer ink to the inside of the shirt. It's just to kinda absorb it
and then we'll--we're going to put the shirt on and lay this on top of the shirt, get some
ink, squeegee it across and that's the basic process. So in the next clip we'll set up
one of these t-shirts.
