So with that, this building is 51% done, it is on time within budget, it is going to be
a fantastic Recreation Community Center. ~Cheers~
Alright, ready, 1,2,3, ~cheers~
And actual work started in 2002, and here we are today. This windmill is one of our city landmarks. The Mitt Windmill and Cottage became
city landmark 210 in July 2000.
A.D.A accessibility, a brand new restroom and we really transformed what had great bones
into just a beautiful, beautiful civic square and the best news of all is that this project
came in over a million dollars under budget!
Within and around, now just this neighborhood, but within this district, there's a lot of
new improvements that are coming and so every year we see some effort and now what's Balboa
Park's turn to shine and you will be able to, you'll be able to use this park and have
an extended community all because of the effort that has been made and I want to say Thank
You. I've been an active member of the Hayes Valley
Community, I've lived here all my life and like some of you here today, I played at this
playground when I was a little girl. We are excited to see the new playground and I think
it looks amazing. This playground is such a staple in our community and it's such a
milestone to see what has become today.
We're adding square footage for more programming, we're redoing the playground, we're redoing
the fields, we're redoing the basketball court, its going have solar panels. It's going to
give this community the space it needs and deserves.
Thank you for your support!
