here we are at Mount Uniacke estate Museum, this is about a 900 acre property
and it has a number of hiking trails
we're here on one of the trails today just to explore also looking for a rock.
The estate started out as a summer home
for John Uniacke
who was a lawyer
down in Halifax
The final estate building took three years to build
and we see a whole bunch of
remains from the early 1800's
we see non native trees planted
we see
stonewall
there's a hot house
that's basically a heated
green house for the winter
this used to be the old stage coach road
or old post road they call it, also used by military
which went right by the estate
The reason why we are on this trail
is that we are looking for a piece from those stage coach days in the 1800's
we're looking for a mile marker
most of them were made out of wood against trees
but there were couple that were etched in stone
and one of them is somewhere along here
so here's the rock, and you can vagualy see the number 27
expected take around two to three hours to complete all the easy trails on the estate
look down in the description of the video and I'll include a link to the GPS track file
where you can follow where I walked today on your GPS
