Hi, this is Matthew with Advantage Technical Services with another tip on using Caldera.
Now, we've already discussed using the compose tool to align images and position them the
way we want to manually lay out graphics, but sometimes we want to automate this program
a little bit. That's where the Nest-O-Matik feature comes
in. Now, it's built directly into your printer
tab, so once you open up your printer window, you'll want to set all of your settings as
far as your resolution, your photo-type, and everything, and your materials.
Then for your action, the very last step down here, we're going to select "Nest."
Now, all we need to do is just drag and drop our images in there, select our number, and
hit print. Once you've finished printing everything,
click on your quit button, and then under your settings tab, you open up your Spooler.
Now your Spooler will have all of your job descriptions you have sent on previously for
your imaging as well as this extra job called "Autonest."
Now, say for some reason we didn't need three of this picture.
What we can do is we can click on it, select settings, and on our main tab, we'll only
need one copy. We hit OK, click on our Autonest, and you'll
see our images have repositioned. Now, we can also change the setting of our
Autonest to either rename the job, do the total number of copies of this set, or as
well we can change the material size. Say for some reason this particular material
comes in a 42 inch roll, and say we want to put an inch of space in between every images.
We also want it to be centered. Once we click OK, you'll notice our Autonest
rotates and positions everything to fit better. When you're ready to print this, just click
print, and it will print the Autonest. You'll see all of these jobs process individually
and go into our green done queue, and when we're all finished, all we have to do is click
on quit. One last tip I'll remind you of is when you're
done using the Auto Nest-O-Matik features, open up your printer again, and change your
action back to print, so you don't accidentally nest your next 25 jobs.
When you're all finished, just click on quit. Hope that's been helpful, and we'll see you
again next time.
