Hello and welcome to Todd's kitchen. If you don't have a slow cooker i highly recommend you buy one.
They are incredibly cheap and make life so much easier and delicious. So join me today as i make a slow cooker version
of creamy beef.
The first thing to put in is our plain flour
Next i have some steak i have cut up into cubes and you can use any steak you like, personally I'm
using blade steak, just put that all in
Then mix all the steak in the flour
what this will do is prevent all the
bits of steak sticking together during the cooking process
next place in our mushrooms
then our tomato paste
then our paprika
then our mustard
then our beef stock
then half a cup of white wine
now if you don't want to use white wine then just replace it with extra beef stock
give it a quick mix through
break up all the
tomato paste
Now all we have to do is place the lid on and out this on low
and it will take eight hours to cook
So it has been eight hours so next into a container
place in our sour cream
and then a tablespoon of corn flour or corn starch
What the corn flour does is help to thicken up the sauce
so you get a nice creamy
creamy sauce
The best way to describe this is a lovely taste throughout the entire house which is one
of many upsides to using a slow cooker because when you get home
you can smell dinner is just about ready. So what we are going to do now is pour in our sour cream mixture
into the slow cooker
then give it a good mix through
now just as one hint
keep an eye on it for the last hour or so, so after seven hours.
If it looks a bit dry just add some water to it. Some times you have to do it, some times you don't
with this one
after seven hours it started to look a bit dry so i added half a cup of water to it
Once its mixed through place the lid back on
and let it continue to slow cook for another thirty minutes.
also if you plan to have anything else with it like mashed potatoes or vegetables
i recommend you put them on now so by the time the meat is ready they'll be ready.
And its done. I have served it up with a mixture of potato and sweet potato mashed together
You can add some salt and pepper if you choose
but i choose not to
but its completely up to you

there are many reasons why i love using slow cookers
one reason is definitely when you taste the meat
it literally melts in your mouth
at it tastes
fantastic it really really does and this meat has been slow cooked to perfection and when you mix it in with all the other ingredients this slow cooker recipe tastes simple delicious
and how easy was it
ninety percent of the preparation was done before you go to work in the morning
All you have to do when you arrive home is add the sour cream and some vegetables
