in her narration:"he lowered the pot for it to drink"
he made that so it would be easy for it(the cat) to drink
that shows how al Salaf (the predecessor ) were kind to animals
obeying the the prophet (PBUH) who ordered his followers (the muslims) to be kind with every animate (living being)
Narrated by Al Shaikhan (Al Bukhari & Muslim) on the authority of Abu Huraira
Allah's Apostle said, "While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it.
On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst.
The man said, 'This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine.
So he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog.
Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him."
Another narration that"the dog thanked him to Allah so Allah forgave him"
The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?"
He replied, "Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate (living being)."
Narrated by (Ibn Majeh) & (Ibn Hebban) on the authority of (Suraqah bin Ju'shum) said:
I asked the Prophet about a lost camel that comes to my cisterns that I have prepared for my own camels will I be rewarded if I give it some water to drink?
He (PBUH) said: Yes, in every living being there is reward"
Narrated by (Imam Ahmed) & (Abu Dawod) on the authoriy of (Abdullah bin Amr bin Al'as)
"A man asked the Prophet (PBUH):I fill my cistern for my camels to drink then other's camels come to it and i allow them to drink Is there a reward in that?"
The Prophet (PBUH) said: Yes, in every living being there is reward"
Imam (Ahmad) narrated on the authority of (Abd Allaah bin Jafar) said:
"The Apostle of Allah (PBUH) entered the garden of a man from (Al-Ansar) (the Helpers).
All of a sudden when a Camel saw the Prophet (PBUH) it wept tenderly producing yearning sound and its eyes flowed.
The Prophet (PBUH) came to it and wiped the temple of its head. So it kept silence. or calmed down
He then said "Who is the master of this Camel? Whose Camel is this?
A young man from (Al-Ansar) came and said "This is mine, Apostle of Allaah."
He(PBUH) said "Don't you fear Allaah about this beast which Allaah has given in your possession.
It has complained to me that you keep it hungry and load it heavily which fatigues it."
The prophet (PBUH) ordered us to treat beasts well even during killing them
It is not contradicted -As we kill them for our food not for fun,etc -
(Muslim) narrated in his (Sahih) on the authority of (Shaddid b. Aus) he said:
Two are the things which I remember Allah's Messenger (PBUH) having said:
"when you kill, kill in a good way and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good way. So every one of you should sharpen his knife, and let the slaughtered animal die comfortably."
Narrated by (Al tabarani) in (Al kabeer) on the authority of (Bin Ab'aas) that:
"The messnger of Allah (PBUH) passed by a man who was putting his leg on an ewe's neck he was sharpening his knife while her(its) eyes were following him"
He (PBUH) said:"Why didn't you do that before? Do you intend inflicting death on it twice? - once by sharpening the knife within its sight, and once by cutting its throat? -"
(Al Shaikhan) recoreded that (Hisham bin Zaid) narrated:
(Anas bin Malek) and I went to (Al-Hakam bin Aiyub). (Anas) saw some boys shooting at a tied hen
(Anas) said, "The Prophet has forbidden the shooting of tied or confined animals."
(Al Shaikhan) recoreded that (Sa`id bin Jubair) said:
"While I was with (Ibn `Umar), we passed by a group of young men who had tied a hen and started shooting at it.
When they saw (Ibn `Umar), they dispersed, leaving it.
On that (Ibn `Umar) said, "Who has done this? The Prophet(PBUH) cursed the one who did so."
And you understand the meaning of the "curse" (Al La'an)..it means "Expulsion of Allah's Mercy"
(Al Shaikhan) narrated on the authority of (Ibn `Umar):
The Prophet said, "A woman entered the (Hell) Fire because of a cat which she had tied untill it died
, neither giving it food nor setting it free to eat from the vermin of the earth."
and (Al Shaikhan) recorded that (Abu Huraira) reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as saying:
"There was a dog moving around a well and was about to die of thirst Suddenly a *** from the prostitutes of Bani Isra'il happened to see it
She drew some water for it using her shoe.So her sins were forgiven."
Allah forgave her even she was a "***" !
(Muslim) narrated that (Jabir bin Abdullah) reported
there happened to pass before Allah's Apostle (PBUH) an *** the face of which had been cauterised, - it was a way to mark their animals -
it is not prohibited but not on the face
whereupon He (PBUH) said: Allah has cursed one who has cauterised it (on the face)."
(Abu Dawod) recoreded in his (Sunnan) that (Abdullah ibn Mas'ud) narrated:
When we were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and he had gone to releive himself, we saw a Hummarah(A bird) with her young ones. We captured the young ones.
The bird came and began to spread out its wings. it was flying down untill it come close to the earth then fly up and so ..
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came and said:"Who grieved this for its young ones? Return its young ones to it."
There are many (Hadith) narrations about animal welfare in Islam and what i mentioned was just a hint
Even (Al Foqahaa) the jurists spoke about that and said: "It's (Haram) prohibited that the animal suffer more than it can withstand of lifting, walking or hitting"
like many - who don't fear Allah nor be mercy with his creations - do nowadays.
Why did i tell you those narration about welfare of animals and beasts?
So i can show you how this (Sharia) God's Law precedes others
Those teaching were said in the 1st Century AH,About the 7th Century AD
When the 1st Humane Organization was founded?
In the 19th century .. After Islam Teachings by 12 centuries !
in 1824 in England (RSPCA) was founded as the 1st organization for animal welfare
and it was a charity operation based only on morals,it couldn't give penalities or make strict laws.
So uptill now you still saw barbarity of the countries which pretend civilization
we know the Spanish "Corrida" .. the "bullfighting" only for Entertainment
and in Latin America we still see the "Cockfight" A bird is equipped with knives and set to fight the other ultimately till one of them die,the audience come to gamble and so
Because the Humane Organization was based on just moral principles..where are the strict laws?
See about Islam: "Allah has (cursed) who cautrized a face of an ***" Allah has expelled who did that from his mercy
Allah expelled from his mercy who ropes a hen and hits it till death
if Allah expelled you from his mercy then what can shelter you ?
The prophet (PBUH) defended a hen : "Who has hurt the feelings of this bird by taking its young? Return them to her."
So if you see some "Muslims" make fun by hurting animals you know the vast diffrence between How we are now and How we should be .. Allah Al Musta'an
