Hello Lancers! I'm Laila Hajjali. It's Tuesday, February the 18th, and PCC One starts
now!
PCC One. Campus news in a minute.
PCC One is brought to you by the Pasadena City College Academy of Professional Learning.
The Academy of Professional Learning. Opportunity. Engagement. Collaboration.
[Welcome back]. If you're anything like me, I'm sure you used those four days off
to get ahead in your classes. Have you ever thought about attending school in
the Copper state? The Grand Canyon State? Or, how about just Arizona State? Well, today
is your lucky day. A representative from Arizona State University will be in L-110 from 9 to noon,
to tell you how you can become a Sun Devil. If you're interested in transferring
to Arizona State or any other college or university, make sure you don't miss the "How to Transfer" workshop
happening this afternoon from 5 to 6, in L-110.
On the lookout for money to help with school? Well, the President's Latino Advisory Committee,
or PLAC, whose mission is to help the educational success of Latino students at PCC, is happy
to announce its annual scholarship. Last year, PCC students received over $10,000 in scholarship funds.
That's a lot of dinero. You can apply for the scholarships at the PLAC website:
www.pasadena.edu/about/president/plac.cfm Yep, cfm.
Time for the PCC Sportsbeat [beatbox]:
Our Lancers look for their third win in four games as they take the field against the Griffins
of Grossmont College at Jackie Robinson Memorial Field. First pitch is at 2. Our soft-ballahs
head to Torrance to face the Warriors of El Camino College at 3.
Lastly, if you have any interest in doing what I'm doing, Lancer Lens will be holding
talent auditions on Friday, February 28th. Just contact us at lancerlens@pasadena.edu
and we'll set you up with an audition time.
That's all the news that's fit to stream. If you have any news items or announcements
that you would like shared, please submit your request to lancerlens@pasadena.edu.
You can follow us on Twitter @pcclancerlens. I'm Laila Hajjali and I'll see you tomorrow.
