Tip number eleven
Humor
I know, I know. You can't remember a joke to save your life. Neither can I.
But I bet one of the reasons your friends like you is because of your
sense of humor. This is the place to let it out.
It's how your videos get remembered and shared.
And sharing
brings more views.
Number twelve. Guest blog with your videos. Today the new buzzword is content
curation. That means everybody is looking for good content to put in their content
portals. Why shouldn't some of them be yours?
If you simply approach a reputable blogger and ask them to consider your
videos,
as long as it's in their area they'll at least take a look.
Remember videos are considered high-value content so
you've already got that in your favor. This will bring in a diversity of
viewers and well, just broaden your audience.
Number thirteen.
Post your videos on vimeo, on Veoh, DailyMotion, Facebook, Twitter
and use these outlets to link back to the original YouTube video
Facebook especially can help your video go far and wide in and get lots of
views and comments
which YouTube also loves.
Number fourteen
Be sociable on YouTube. It is a social network after all. If someone subscribes
to your channel, subscribe to their channel if it seems right.
And always respond to all of your comments on YouTube.
The social component is actually
one of the higher ranking factors and ranking high means more views.
Number fifteen. Make a transcript. This is big. When YouTube knows the exact words
in your video, then any word can be a keyword when someone is searching for
you.
YouTube makes a transcript for you, but it doesn't get the spelling right
very well
but that's easy to fix. The great thing about it is that it's perfectly timed
and in the right digital format. This is something that used to cost hundreds of
dollars to produce,
and now you can do it all for free
in under an hour while you're watching Dancing With The Stars
Okay. Number sixteen
Clear out your channel.
No, not your YouTube channel. I'm talking about the channel of communication
itself.
Video
No one wants to listen to you when you sound like you're 50 feet away, but
you look like you're right in front of them.
And they don't want to squint to have to see you.
Anyway I have a whole bunch of videos on this. Here's a brief series that you can
start with.
It's really important to get this right so people watch your video all the way
through
and when they do that, you rank better
and more people
leave YouTube
and go to your site

Number seventeen
Make epic content
That just means to make a difference
Don't put something out there just to fill a hole in your schedule
Be fearless. Resolve to create work that makes people sit up and take notice
Do this you won't have to worry about views very much
Number eighteen
Put this little widget
on your website.
This is a YouTube subscribe widget for wordpress sites
It helps people get right to your YouTube channel and subscribe to your
videos
I'll tell you my own subscriptions have gone up by a
surprisingly high percentage
since I started using it at the BrainyVideo site
Number nineteen
Make your videos relatively short. If you can get your point across in about three
minutes so much the better. Personally I don't use this. My longest videos tend to
get the most views, but when you're just starting out people will forgive a lot
more if you don't make them watch for fifteen minutes
especially when you could've said the same thing in four minutes.
If you've watched both parts of this video series
you've just seen nineteen things you can do to get yourself
far more views that you have now.
If you're in the local or business-to-business market that means a
few hundred to a few thousand.
Any more than that is lagiappe or
icing on the cake.
I mean, you can only take so many customers.
Almost all of the strategies I talked about in the series can be amplified
with other techniques
and even automation.
If you make the best video you can to start with
all of these techniques will work even better.
