Hello! This is Terry from HockeyMonkey.com. Today we're looking at a nice stick from Easton,
it's called MAKO M2. Named after the fastest shark species, the
Mako series of product from Easton is all about having quick hands. Such a big part
of the game involves tight spots, which requires quick hands and speed to get the shot off.
Easton has designed their Mako line of sticks to be lightweight and balanced for quick hands.
In addition to being so well-balanced, the Mid-taper kick point provides a great combination
of power and accuracy. Easton's insight studies with goaltenders is what led them to the predominantly
white look of the series, because some of the goalies claimed that the white stick blended
in with the ice and boards making it more difficult to see the release of the puck from
the shooter. Let's take a closer look at some other details of the MAKO M2 stick.
Easton uses a Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass construction in the shaft and its geometry
has contoured corners with slightly concave walls. The MAKO M2 is available in a nice
matte finish, like the one I'm holding here, or with the grip finish.
As we move down the stick, you will notice a nice thin taper that is very consistent.
As mentioned earlier, this creates the mid-taper kick point which provides a great combination
of power and accuracy. Looking at the blade itself, Easton uses a
multi-rib construction through its micro-bladder process. Basically, this means that there
are 2 structural ribs that run the length of the blade with a combination of a bladder
and foams between the ribs. This provides a great feel to the stick and in conjunction
with the 6K carbon wrap provides a nice amount of stiffness and torsional rigidity to the
blade. The MAKO M2 from Easton provides performance
and durability in a relatively lightweight stick at an excellent value. Check one out
today. Available at one of our superstores or at hockeymonkey.com. Thanks for watching.
