>> Hi and welcome to a new video from the serie 30 days of Christmas
Christmas eve dinner and Christmas day lunch are getting near
that's why I decided to share with you a cute idea
to create a centerpiece and some placeholders which will stand out
like the ones I'm going to show you.
This is the centerpiece,
I made it using a glass jar,
some tiny artificial pine trees, some fake snow and
some other supplies that you will see while watching the video.
With the same technique I made also some placeholders,
like this one,
using smaller jars and adding the guest name on a tag.
So, with no further ado, let's jump into the video
and here is what you'll need to make your own centerpiece and matching placeholders!
Some styrofoam,
an x-acto knife,
some hot glue,
some glass jars,
a bigger one for the centerpiece
and a smaller one for each guest,
a cardstock sheet with the names of the guests printed on,
some tiny artificial pine trees,
some fake snow,
and some scissors.
You will also need some toothpicks
some some fabric trims.
First of all we need to cut a circle out of the styrofoam
so let's use the bigger jar as a mask
and let's carve the styrofoam this way.
Then let's trim it until it perfectly fits inside the jar,
like this.
Now let's do the same for the smaller jars
which we will use as placeholders.
Once we cut out the circles let's move to the decoration.
Let's use the lid of the bigger jar
and let's hot glue the styrofoam circle on top
this way.
Now let's hot glue the artificial pine trees on the styrofoam.
Let's do the same for all the smaller jars.
As you can see I printed on a cardstock
the names of each one of the guests
If you are not keen to use the computer you can simply handwrite the names
and proceed by cutting them out.
Now let's grab a toothpick
and let's hot glue it on the back of the name tags.
Let the glue dry
abd let's pierce it into the styrofoam
like this.
Now let's pour some fake snow inside the jar
then let's place the lid back
and flip the jar over to allow the snow to evenly cover the styrofoam.
For the centerpiece let's print a bigger tag
choosing the quote or wish we like the most
and let's proceed as we did for the placeholders.
Here are our centerpiece and placeholders ready for the last touchups.
Let's cut the fabric trims to the right length,
then let's hot glue the trim at the base of the jars
like this.
For the centerpiece we can use a clear fabric swatch.
To make the centerpiece look nicer
let's place the jar on a big plate
and let's wrap it with a white feathers string,
you can find it in stores in the Christmas decorations aisle.
As last touch let's add a red bow
et voilà our centerpiece with matching placeholders are ready
Now you just need to set the table and get ready to welcome the guests.
That's all for today
