Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf of Expert Village I am going to talk to you
today about ways to recognize and treat a condition called Restless Leg Syndrome. In
this clip we are going to talk about one of the ways to alleviate the symptoms of Restless
Leg Syndrome and that is to give yourself a foot bath. Now here I have and I am demonstrating
for you, that you need to get a nice tub of very cold water or very warm water. The warm
water will of course, help to relax the muscles in your feet. Now what you can do is to add
extra relaxation therapy to this and here I have a half a cup of salts, oils, or salt
oils that is in a powder form so bath salt or bath oils is all you need and you can just
add it to the mixture and stir it and let it dissolve or what you can do is to add mineral
oils or aromatherapy oils to enhance the minerals when you are doing your foot massage. What
you can do is you can just put your feet in the water and just soak them for up to ten
minutes or fifteen minutes and in the meantime what you can do while you are doing that is
you can just rub your lower legs to give them a massage and when you've done that you can
take them out, of course, and wipe your legs dry and then it's good to then increase the
sensation and also you can have some body lotion that has a nice smell to it as well
so you can get aromatherapy and massage your legs with the lotion and it is kind of light
stroking while you do this you can do some light reflexology and press on the sole of
your foot to decrease the tension and also on the calf of the leg so that would help
to reduce the chances of getting the horrible creepy crawly sensation when you get the Restless
Leg Syndrome.
