Our press conference is devoted to the opening of the second charity ball "First Flowers of Spring",
which is held on the eve of the Day of Orthodox Youth.
I am pleased to congratulate the participants with this significant event.
As I understand it, you have a great excitement concerning spectators and participants, don't you?
Galina Rapoport, President of "ERA Media"
The first ball was held last year at the same place, at the Geological Museum,
and was focused on the coming spring.
We probably have a bar - holding the first event in anticipation of spring.
All are tired of winter, everyone is waiting for warm, sunny days.
And we wanted to make our event closer to spring. Why does our event have such a status?
First, the ball is free for its participants.
The only thing, of course, is that we are limiting the participants of the ball, because, you know, the room cannot be stretched.
But even now, although we have printed about 300 invitations, people still call us and ask to come to our ball.
We're doing it for the age category of 18-30 years,
for those young people who at the moment might be interested in the balls, the resumption of this wonderful holiday,
which was previously held yearly, monthly.
During the war, sometimes the war between the two warring parties was even stopped,
the ball was held, people rested and then re-started their action.
We do not make money at this ball. We just invest our money in the conduct of such a beautiful event,
which, once again, will be focused on the communication of children,
and I think that after this many people will find new friends.
Maxim Parshin, head of the Service for Regional Relations of the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for Church and Society
First, the event is dedicated to the Day of Orthodox Youth. It is organized by the company "Media Era"
and two of the Synodal Departments -
the Department for Church and Society and the Department for Youth - of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Church as a traditional force has always favored retaining the cultural traditions
that have been accumulated among the Russian people for centuries.
Unfortunately, XX century was quite brutal and bloody.
Yesterday, for example, the Church recalled the martyrs and confessors of the Russian people,
who suffered from the godless in the XX century.
There have been a number of accidents in the XX century.
Unfortunately, this affected our culture, including the culture of leisure.
And we have forgotten that the best Russian tradition is not just boozing or spending leisure time in a mind-blowing frenzy.
There are other traditions, which we need to remember and which it is necessary to maintain and revive.
And such a great ball, which we are organizing, is just an attempt to reach out to our society,
to show that, in addition to various kinds of night entertainment places in the form in which they now exist,
there is the opportunity to obtain a positive charge of communicating in slightly different conditions.
The Orthodox ball will involve two orphanages.
One of them is Mikhailovski orphanage, which is now home to more than one hundred of children from disadvantaged families.
Since 2003, the patronage of this orphanage is carried out by Sretenski Monastery.
Since 2004, the director of the boarding school is an Orthodox priest, who is a teacher and has a sports education.
High school students participate in various cultural activities in the Ryazan region,
where, in fact, the children's home is located.
The children and young people of the orphanages have repeatedly become winners of various competitions.
In addition to the participation of young people from this orphanage in the ball,
it will be attended by representatives of major universities -
Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Moscow State University, Russian Orthodox University.
Evgeni Papunaishvili, dancer, choreographer
As for this ball, first, this is insanely beautiful.
It's a fabulous feeling.
I well remember the first rehearsal, when the future participants of the ball came to the school;
many of them were not that a bit frivolous, - many of them never danced and had no idea what it is.
And it is amazing; this was astonishing to see how the very first lesson changed the emotional state of the people
when they entered dance halls, put on their dancing shoes, stood in pairs.
You know, as a teacher, coach, choreographer, I see this for a lot of years, these emotions,
and for me it is probably the only drug I've ever tried in my life.
This is the condition of people I describe, the state of joy.
They learned to do something, someone did it immediately, some did not, but everyone worked,
and from the second lesson everyone danced.
I can only see some advantages here.
And, of course, when I hear "orphanage", when children, teenagers will have the opportunity to visit such a beautiful event, to take part in this -
of course, this is amazing, and I really want them to have fun.
I want them to remember this day. I'm sure they will remember it for life.
For many of them because of some circumstances the ball may generally be the only event of such a kind in their life.
I want to make it a fabulous holiday.
We expect a lot of dancing, a lot of beautiful music, dance master class which I will gladly conduct and a lot of fun and joy.
I am sure that there will be 300 people simultaneously smiling.
I think that watching this will be a great happiness.
