>>Mark Rulona: Wednesday, June 20 was Make Your Own Ice Cream Day at the Hemenway Courtyard
on the UH Manoa campus.
>>Grant Ponciano: It’s one of those old high school science projects where you put
the milk inside a bag in a bag and you shake it up and it turns into ice cream just like
that.
>>Mark Rulona: The event was organized by the UH Manoa Campus Center Board Activities
Council and an estimated 200 people turned out.
>>Kayin Infante: The offer was so attractive. I mean free ice cream.
>>Manny Cagdan: The best thing about it was the toppings that they had. There was a lot
of assorted toppings.
>>Grant Ponciano: Like fresh Oreos and M&Ms and stuff like that.
>>Mark Rulona: By all accounts it was sweet.
>>Kayin Infante: It was good. It was great actually.
>> Manny Cagdan: I think it is a really good event. I think it had a really good turnout.
Free ice cream on a hot sunny day. It’s good.
>>Mark Rulona: Exactly what the organizers from the UH Mānoa Activites Council want
to hear. Their efforts are funded by student fees.
>>Grant Ponciano: What we do is we program events such as these to use that funding and
create cool activities for the students to engage and enhance their student life experience
here at UH.”
>>Kayin Infante: I guess it really brings people together as a community and not just
the UH students. Heartwarming.
