balancing life as a full-time pre-med college student
he was trying to find an opportunity that he could get excited about
hesitantly he agreed to attend a business opportunity meeting with his
friend
however as soon as he saw the ACN business
all hesitation disappeared
he's learned more about life during his last seven years in ACN
than his previous fifteen years in traditional education
he is now closer to god
been able to help his family financially
as well as by his dream car and a condo on the beach
please help us promote to the position of regional vice president Karl Smith
my name is Karl smith
I have actually been involved for the company this weekend is my seventh year anniversary
with
ACN i saw the company back in february
of two thousand six
and uh... when i first saw the company i was a college student i was going to
school full time
i was actually studying a uh...pre-med degree
every person in my family you know was in the medical
you know industry or whatever
and uh...
that was the surest way they can
ya know tell me go out there and get you know a very secure lifestyle six
figure income and all that so without questioning I went there and i did it
um... a very broke friend of mine told me about ACN that used to work with me
i actually saw the presentation it made sense i met mister max knowles
the information made sense that i founda leader that i could really
just believe in someone that i could follow someone that i felt
deep down in my gut could take me to where i wanted to go
we went to work
and i'll tell you that
within my first couple months i had some quick success
it was great after that i had a lot of struggles that i had to go through just like
many of you guys here
i have people that told me it was a scam i had people that told me i was crazy i had my
closest family members
my closest friends
people i grew up with my whole life that are telling me that
this thing was a pipe dream that i was getting brainwashed that these people
were only taking money from me by paying five dollars at the
once a week Saturday meetings
twenty dollars a month
as i was working the business there was a lot of people i had to let go it was really hard for me
uh... mentally i had to constantly struggle with
not wanting to quit and i remember my first defining moment was
in February of two thousand seven
i actually went to a convention in fort worth texas
and i got to see the presentation i got to see the whole international convention
mister greg provenzano delivered a speech that friday
to the whole general session
that absolutely impacted my life forever on my mindset changed my attitude changed
everything about me changed that's when i realize that i was no longer
in ACN but ACN was in me
and from that point forward it didn't bother me when people told me no about the
business it didn't bother me when i had my dad telling me every single day after coming
home from work
that you know i was wasting my time that i need to focus on my studies
that i need to let ACN go it didn't bother me when i had my best friends that i grew up
with my whole life didn't want to talk to me anymore because they said aw man you're in a
cult it didn't bother me when i had to go through all of these different things and so i kept
pursuing and pursuing but still i wasn't having that much success
literally two and a half years in the company finally
i hit the position of team coordinator
and i got excited
three months later i was not so excited because i had no momentum no success no
money
and my car had just got repossessed
i woke up to the middle of the night to them trying to come take my car and me and my brother
we woke up in the middle of the night
we got our baseball bats and ran out
to the front
and these guys were big and they had bigger baseball bats
and so i try to talk to my dad you know my dad was super negative on the
business i said will you help me out he said i'll help you but
one condition you have to quit ACN you have to forget about it you have to never show up to
another meeting and you have to refocus one hundred percent on school
and i thought about it for a second and i said um
i guess i will have to build the business without a car then
[crowd cheering]
you know my mentor mister aaron burt taught me that i didn't sign that application to be a
quitter i signed that application to be a winner
and no matter what it took i was going to make this thing work i was going to see this thing through
and me and my mentor me and my business partners we went to work and
failure after failure went to my second defining moment i got to hear from
mister darren hardy
back in two thousand nine of december he shared a conversation that changed my life
forever since then i went back home listened to that audio i spoke
to mister provenzano about it
on the last presidents club retreat i don't know if you remember
but we went to work we created outstanding success
new cars new clothes new lifestyles new zipcodes new success stories for our team and
still just the very beginning let's go out there and lets make this thing work
ladies and gentlemen i'm so excited about our opportunity
and i look forward to seeing each and every one of you at the top of the company
thank you very much
[crowd cheering]
well one thing that kept me inspired as i was building my business on my journey to rvp
was just the fact that
i wasn't that person that had the quick success right away ya know i didn't hit
TC right away i didn't hit ETT right away or RVP
literally took me two and a half years of persistent failure after failure
after failure to hit team coordinator you know and you know it took me five years to hit regional
director where i was really able to start living the lifestyle that i imagine
living
and only after seven years of work in the business persistent past failures
that i hit regional vice president
and that right there is the message i want to relay to my team because me i thought
from beginning even if it took ten years to be able to live the lifestyle of regional vice
president it would one hundred percent absolutely be worth it
