The first thing I'm going to do is actually put this earring into the pin vice so that
I can polish it and the important part of finishing is to finish your parts before you
put them together so that you minimize the finishing afterwards especially in areas that
you couldn't reach once the stone is in it so I am actually going to polish it with a
small polishing wheel right here at the work bench, something that you can also do at a
larger polishing set up. The important things to do are make sure that you are going to
polish within the edges of the prongs and also remove any casting seams that might be
on it from the mold that the earring was made from. I am going to put the setting into the
pin vice, sliding it in, tightening it and then we'll polish it, making sure to get all
around the prongs, look for any marks from the mold that made it and trying to get as
much of the inside here as we can that we're not going to be able to reach once the stone
is set.
