When looking for a sales coach there is five different areas that a business owner should
look for. The first one is, is there a sales system that that particular coach has available
to them? There needs to be some baseline to be thinking about the sales process. The second
one is can that system be customized to your particular needs? Is that sales trainer able
and willing to take into account the different personality styles in your business for example?
The third one builds from there. There are closing styles and selling tools and techniques
for each particular personality style. So they all need to be adapted potentially to
what your specific sales force looks like. The fourth one is near and dear to my heart
which is are they selling or are they letting your customers buy? So the difference is a
product pusher for example is going to try to jam their product down your throat, whether
you like it or not, whether it really solves your need or not. A person that is professionally
helping other to buy, as Jeffrey Goodamer says, is creating an environment where they're
willing to find your needs and they're willing to make sure that they're product actually
satisfies those needs and it's something that will help you
instead of just helping them. And of course the fifth one that nobody ever asks about,
did they ask you for the sale? What kind of sales trainer is going to come in you and
not ask for the sale at the close. If they don't, they're not going to teach your people
to close as well. We've built a free business health check. It' a diagnostic tool that through
