and I'm a world champion in powerlifting.
Today I talk about the different Belts you can use in Powerlifting.
There are two different belts in Powerlifting.
This one is good for deadlifts and squats.
It's pretty wide.
It stabilizes your back when you put it on
especially on heavy weights.
This one is made out of one piece of leather.
I've imported it from the usa
and I used it in over 100 Powerlifting Competitions.
Very good thing.
How I said, you can use it for squats and deadlifts.
I have a different belt for benchpress.
The belts for benchpress are much smaller.
Why is it smaller for benchpress?
Because you can arch your back more.
It's often not possible to arch your back with a big belt.
You can benchpress better and more with a arched back.
When should you actually start using a regular belt?
Basically you shouldn't use it from the beginning
so your back can work for itself and build muscles.
When I train heavy
that would be at 150/160+ Kilos
I start using it und put it on very tight.
and use the tension coming from the belt.
I strongly recommend not to use it from the beginning
because you back will stay weak if you start too early.
The benchpress belt should be used on maximum weights only.
Also if you use a benchpress shirt and you wanna still have a good arch.
You don't really need it in other cases.
