How to send targeted posts to your selected Facebook Audience
Facebook is not only a powerful tool for social networking, it allows businesses to keep their customers
informed about upcoming products and events. When your business is offering a special event
in Manhattan, users in Los Angeles may find a Facebook post about it decidedly useless.
With Facebook's geographical targeting tools for status updates, you can tailor a post
to not only specific countries but also to states, provinces and cities as well.
Step 1 Sign into the Facebook account with administrator
privileges to your company's Facebook page. Step 2
Enter the status update you wish to send out in the "Status" field.
Step 3 Click the viewing permissions button, which
by default is labeled as "Public." Step 4
Select "Location/Language" from the "Target by" heading.
Step 5 Enter the name of the country you intend to
publish to in the "Location" field and select it from the drop-down menu.
Step 6 Select the radio button for desired filtering.
You can choose "Everywhere," "By State/Province" and "By City."
Step 7 If you selected "By State/Province," type
out the name of the state or province in the field and select it from the drop-down menu.
If you selected "By City," type out name of the city and select it from the drop-down
menu. Step 8
Enter a language filter in the "Languages" field if you wish to filter the message for
only speakers of a particular language. Step 9
Click "Okay." Once you're finished, the viewing permissions button should show a small gear-shaped
icon and the word "Custom." Step 10
Click "Post" to send the targeted status to all your page viewers who fit the targeting
criteria.
