I was feeling woozy one day and I went to the walk in clinic and they told me I needed
to go to the hospital right away so I went over to the hospital. They put me in a cat
scan and I found out I had tumors in my head, so they took them out and then I ended up
here.
Greg came in. He was extremely ill when he came in -- unable to walk, unable to stand.
We figured out what he was able to do at home and where we needed to be to get him home
and then as a team we all sit down and go through the care plan together, including
him and his family, and get him to where he needs to be -- establish those goals very
clearly in the beginning.
I thought it was great. This whole place is amazing.
Two weeks before discharge when we realize that he's getting close, we have Kindred At
Home come in. They look at our charts, they go through our care plan, we have a meeting
with them with the family and then we go from there as to what we need to maintain.
They're well involved with the care. He knows the players, he knows who's involved, who
to talk to, the family feels comfortable so when he goes home he has that bridge -- that
nice bridge so he knows, oh, I remember this person from rehab -- I remember this one from...
So, it was nice, he felt very comfortable with that.
By the time he left, he was walking, he was eating, he was doing laps around the hallway.
It felt great to get home. I got released Mother's Day to surprise my mom and I've been
in pretty good shape since.
Kindred At Home handled his medication -- they picked up where we left off. It wasn't like
it was a gap in care, they just kept going and he progressively did better and better.
Incredible recovery; Incredible. Nice to see.
