My name is Kristine Johnson. I've been practicing in the area of Family Law and Real Estate
Law for about fifteen years. I have my own practice - I started in Pembroke Pines, my
office is now in Cooper City and we do mostly divorces, paternity actions, custody disputes;
and, on the real estate side we do transaction work, as well as litigation, we do some foreclosure
defenses, and also negotiations for short sales and other real estate issues. I think
having a small firm is advantageous, especially in family law because we get to know our clients
very well. So, you're not just a number, you're not just another client, you're somebody that
when you call us, we're going to want to call you back and answer your questions because
when you're going through a divorce, when you have a paternity, when you have a custody
matter, when there are things that are urgent, you need to get a hold of your attorney and,
I know the biggest complaint that I get from clients who come into my office that maybe
have gone to see somebody else or have dealt with other attorneys, is that they don't get
a call back, they don't know what's going on - they don't know how their case is progressing;
and, I make it a very big point to contact my clients back and let them know what's going
on. When you hire an attorney, especially for family law matters, you need somebody
who cares about you and cares about what's going on with your family. These issues are
not just monetary issues, these are emotional issues, and without somebody that you connect
with or somebody that you feel that you can call, your representation and your well-being
can be jeopardized. So, I offer a free consultation so that you can come in and you can meet with
me and you can discuss your situation and you can learn about your legal problem and
what might happen if we have to go to court, what might be, how you might be able to settle
your problem, there's a lot of things that can be done at a consultation and the nice
thing about an initial consultation that you don't have to pay for is there's no obligation.
You can walk out of the office feeling a little bit better about your legal situation and
there's no obligation to retain my services. If you do decide to retain my services, then
we speak about the retainer, and how to proceed with the filing of whatever your legal matter
is.
