Hi, I'm Beth Pry of MindLinks, on behalf of Expert Village and today I have with me, Brad
Brewer, owner of the Brad Brewer Golf Academy at Rose and Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida.
In this segment, we're talking about self hypnosis and how to relax your body. Now,
once your body is relaxed after you have entered into a hypnotic state, we want to know what
we should be focusing on. So, Brad, if you would just close your eyes and be my demonstrator.
Now, this is assuming that Brad's body is already relaxed, that he's gone through the
entire process of relaxing his body. And, as he relaxes his body, he has been focusing
on relaxing his body because that's what we talked about. Relax your chest, relax your
arms, relax your legs. So, he's becoming very adept on focusing on his body parts being
relaxed. Now, the very next thing I would ask Brad to focus on or anybody that is entering
into a hypnotic state is: what is the intention that you want? Why is it that you're even
going into a self hypnosis state? Is it to improve your golf swing? Is it to improve
your test taking ability? Is it to feel better making cold calls? What is it that you want
to achieve? That's what you should be focusing on. Not focusing on the challenge that you
are overcoming, focusing on how it is you want it to be. That's what you would want
to be focusing on. So, let me ask you, Brad, with your eyes closed, what are you focusing
on right now? What positive thing are you focusing on? My breathing. He's focusing on
his breathing. And that's a very great because his breathing is the key to relaxation. So,
as he focuses on his breathing, he might feel that his breathing is slowing down and that
his heart rate is slowing down. Brad, if you feel that your body is relaxing more as you
focus on your breathing? Yep. Very good, yes he is. So, whatever you're focusing on in
a self hypnosis state is exactly what's going to happen. In self hypnosis, we have the uncanny
ability to focus very deeply in a state different then when we're wide awake and that's what
we want to focus on is the actual thing that we want to achieve.
