Sheikh Mourtada Muttahari
He is Ayatollah Sheikh Mourtada Muttahari, religious scholar
Islamic philosopher and one of the commanders of the Islamic revolution of Iran from the intellectual way
Sheikh Muttahari was born in the year 1920 in Khorasan in a religious and educated family.
He studied with his father before moving to Mashhad
To attain religious science where he remained occupied with its demands until the year 1936.
He then went to Qom and took attended lessons with Ayatollah Borujerdi
Imam Khomeini and Sayyed Mohamad Tabatabai in philosophy and jurisprudence, assets and ethics and divine wisdom.
Muttahari established an Islamic association for students in 1953
He joined the faculty of religious sciences in the University of Tehran as a teacher;
During that he attained a doctorate in philosophy from the same faculty
His time in the faculty allowed him the exercise of political activity through the Islamic association for students
He was even arrested with Imam Khomeini during the events of the school floodplains in the year 1964 by the Shah’s regime
And after he was released he lived in the neighbourhood of amir al-umara
He worked on the formation of religious scholar activists with the approval of Sayyed Khomeini;
He also assisted in establishing a Husseiniyat Irshad where he became a member of its administration.
In the year 1970 he issued a statement with a group of scholars to condemn Zionist actions in Palestine
And collecting donations for Palestinian refugees
Sheikh Mourtada Muttahari was arrested once again and Hussayniat Irshad was shut down in the year 1973
After he was released he continued in his fight until he was banned from giving speeches on platforms.
In the year 1978 Imam Khomeini allocated him as a member of the council of the Islamic Revolution
And appointed him as one of his close advisors
Sheikh Muttahari was titled as the collector of the transferred and the reasonable due to his knowledge.
He has many books, the most famous of them is “The Explanation of Najul Balagha”
“Stories of the Good,” and “The Divine Justice.”
On the 1st of May in the year 1980
Sheikh Muttahari was shot with treachery by infiltrators of the central U.S intelligence, leading to his martyrdom
Iran was shocked by his departure and that day of his martyrdom was named “Day for the Teacher.”
In the book “The Divine Justice”, the martyr Muttahari said:
“The Western colonial attack with their known and unknown infiltrators from one side
And the negligence from those who claim to protect Islam in this era on another side
Was the reason for the progressive attack Islamic ideas and theories in various fields."
