Madness of Deathwing. I do like that Deathwing is huge, not just a flimsy little dragon like
Ultraxion. Given the previous battle Deathwing is injured barely hanging on, trying not to
fall into the Maelstrom… and then you show up with your raiding buddies and 4 of the
most powerful dragons on the realm to know him out. Talk about kicking a bird when it’s
down. Deathwing is hanging on by a claw, 4 to be
more precise. In the 1st and longest stage of the fight your goal is to chip away at
his claws. Each claw is on a different platform and each platform corresponds to a different
dragon aspect that is helping you. Once you take down a claw you also lose the helping
dragon, the helping dragon probably goes to fight against some other part of Deathwing
or whatever, the important part is that you lose the help of a powerful dragon.
And while the 1st platform is easy because you have all 4 dragons helping you out, on
the last platform you will have only 1 dragon. It’s more about deciding which dragons you
can’t do without on the last 2 platforms then which ones to start with.
Let’s check out what’s going on a platform. A couple of seconds after engaging a tentacle
will spawn in the back, it needs 2 tanks. Dps must switch. Stay spread out as much as
possible as it hits in a line. Don’t stay behind some other players. Melees should stay
at maximum hit box range so that the tentacle has room to hit between them.
The tentacle does a powerful, powerful special attack on your tanks called impale. You will
see it getting cast. On the 1st platform your tanks are to use the green button Ysera gives.
Press it, go immune, no problem. On the rest of the platforms you must deal with the impale
without Ysera’s help. Use shield wall on one impale, use all the rest of your cooldowns
on the other one. Should be 4 impales total. Taunt of each other after each impale.
At one point while your dpsing the tentacle an elementium bolt will be headed your way.
Everyone is to switch to it and take it down before it clashes into the platform. If it
clashes into the platform it will do massive damage and it’s one of the main reasons
for raid wipes. Nozdormu is the one helping you with the Bolt. He places a large time
warp bubble, the bolt passes through the bubble and gets slowed down enough for you to be
able to switch to it. Once you finish the tentacle, go back on the
claw. A bunch of regenerative adds will spawn. These, if not killed quickly enough will go
back to full hp. Keeping them in the time warp bubble will slow down the speed with
which they regenerate. Now I know you were probably thinking at start, aaa these small
adds tiny adds No problem, one hit and they are down, they are easy. But that’s not
you doing the damage it’s ma man Kalecgos in the back with his ***. Kalecgos increases
your overall dps and for each of your attacks nearby targets also take damage. Mainly it’s
a great boost to aoe damage, killing the regenerative adds without Kalecgos and without the time
bubble from Nozdormu is not recommended. Finally we’ve got the Blistering Tentacles.
They do massive raid wide damage and should be taken down quickly. Alexstrasza from the
hood with the flamethrower ftw she basically just kills them for you, you don’t even
need to switch. However, without Alexstrasza you’ll just need to dps them down by yourselves.
Remember you can’t aoe the these, they are immune to that. Just switch to them one by
one. What can wipe your raid is having regenerative
and blistering adds at the same time on the final platform. If that happens you should
kill regenerative 1st but keep in mind that the regenerative are based on a timer. The
Blistering are based on percent of claw hp. We went with 2 tanks, 3 healers, 5dps. Our
order was Ysera 1st, Alexstrasza 2nd, Nozdormu 3rd and finally Kalecgos.
Ysera is intended if you wanna go with 1 tank. I don’t recommend that so Ysera 1st. Nozdorumu
3rd because that elementium bolt is a real pain. Kalecgos last because we wanted to use
that dps boost. Not only for the adds but also to be able kill the 4th claw before Cataclysm.
Cataclysm is on a timer, if the timer reaches the end before we finish the claw then it’s
a wipe. Our main cause for failed attempts was the
Elementium bolt on the last platform. Without the time bubble from Nozdormu the bolt lands
and it hits hard. We decided we would rather have one critical moment in the fight and
deal with it rather than having problems a bit later on with the dps. As soon as the
spot on the floor appears go as far away from it as possible. Really get far way, it’s
300k if your in close to the bolt, 70k if you are near the claw. Most of the raid was
near the claw except for the tanks and their healer.
Before the hit we used Rallying Cry, Argent Defender After the hit we used spirit link
and tranquility to keep us up while destroying the bolt.
Once we survived the bolt we killed the adds with Kalecgos’es help and finished off the
4th and final platform. Deathwing collapses and it’s time to chip away at his head in
the final part of this battle. All 4 of the dragon aspects rejoin you at this stage.
A wave of tentacles will spawn, switch to them. They place a debuff on you called Sharpnel.
It counts down and kills you at 0. Use the green button before the timer runs out. It’s
similar to what you were doing on Ultraxion. Then there are the Elementium Terrors. They
apply a massive stacking dot. Tank them in the time bubble to reduce the frequency of
the dot. They are a real pain on your tanks. Kill them switch back to DW.
Deathwing does more damage at 15% even more at 10%. So here’s what you got to do. Be
cool don’t just go mindless dps on him. Kill the 1st wave of adds, that means tentacles
and terrors. Put damage into DW and get him to 11% and wait for the 2nd wave of add. Kill
the tentacles, when the Terrors spawn Bloodlust. This is the perfect time for Bloodlust, Kill
the Terrors then switch back to Death Wing and bring him from 11% to 0. During this final
push from 11 to 0 use the green button as often as possible to help healers. Deathwing
Should be dead before any more adds spawn. That’s it, check love2playwow.com for more
