And now everyone I'd like to introduce to you comedian and songstress Joel Buxton.
Hello!
Joel is going to play us a delicate ballad about birding.
Yea so a lot of people don't know I like birds. Sometimes I write songs about them.
This one is dedicated to a Cardinal I know.
One day I was walking in the woods and I saw a cool cool bird.
I pulled out my binoculars and I decided to peer at him.
I peered and peered and peered and peered I peered and peered and peered and peered I peered and peered and peered and peered I peered at him.
Did you do anything else? Like what's next for a birder?
Oh that's just the first thing when you spot a bird, you peer at them.
I guess I can jump to the second verse if you want to rush me.
Yea let's see it. Sorry I'm interested.
Our audience does not know what birding is right?
It's just ah... well this verse should explain it.
One day I was hiking in the woods, I saw another cool bird.
I got tired of peering so I put down my binoculars.
I started to gaze at that pretty bird.
I gazed and gazed and gazed and gazed gazed and gazed and gazed and gazed gazed and gazed and gazed and gazed I gazed at him.
You know Joel I can't help but point out that gaze and peer are pretty much the same thing.
No, no no.
You can use them in the same sentence for the same reason.
Totally different.
Peering, you're afraid of getting caught. Gazing, you're pretty much open about it.
There's a minor difference there.
You might peer at a girl changing in a change room through a little hole.
But you're going to gaze at Kim Kardashian's *** because everyone expects you to.
That is a great distinction Joel.
Hey, how about we just do a wicked solo and carry on huh?
Yea I'd love to hear a solo.
Yea!
I gazed and gazed and gazed and gazed.
I peered and peered and peered and peered.
I gazed and gazed and gazed and hid a dead body there yea!
What was the last part Joel?
I said I gazed and I peered man, you don't listen.
You don't listen!
Alright, relax relax.
Joel Buxton everybody what an amazing song.
