At first I was sure there’s nothing.
So I was indeed surprised, because I really didn’t expect anything.
But on the other hand, I wasn’t very worried,
because I thought it wasn’t anything big.
At least that’s what they told me on the phone.
Just a little thing we have to check again.
So I wasn’t very worried, not at all.
I try to teach the kids about nature
and get them in touch with animals.
I want them to sense, to feel, to hear,
so they use all their senses to experience the farm the way it truly is.
I’ve always had a strong protective streak, and the kids…
… well, I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher,
it was what I wanted to do for a living.
And I wanted to become a princess.
And I enjoyed farming as well.
It’s an area where I feel confident about my abilities.
And yes, I try to help as much as I can in my personal surroundings.
I enjoy it. It gives me satisfaction.
I think a lot of diseases only happen if you don’t take care of yourself.
And you can take care of yourself
and use the tools that are made available to you,
because small problems are like weeds,
if you have a small weed you can toot it out easily,
but once it gets big, it’s not so easy to get rid of, right?
So, if you can detect something early, you can fight it better, right?
And so down in Laubach, 6 kilometers from here I saw the bus,
the mammography bus.
It’s pink all over and very eye-catching,
and it was parked next to my kid’s school.
So I stopped in, thinking I’ll go get a mammography, I’d like to do that.
But they said “You’re still too young, you’ll get a letter when you’re 50.”
And that’s what happened, at 50 I received a letter.
It said, on such and such a date at such and such a time
you have a mammography appointment if you want it.
If not, please cancel.
And so I went there.
Who really works hard there is the assistant:
she takes the breast and has to pull it out a little.
That was a little difficult because it was so close to the body,
the machine. There’s a plate, it goes right here,
and then you have to stretch the breast out.
Well, it’s good that I do yoga, so I could bend the right way.
And so we got it done.
When I got the info that the result wasn’t clear,
I thought, uh-oh… maybe I should’t tell Heinz, right?
I always felt like I was in good hands.
And I like to get the straight story.
If they had said, you have cancer, and this is what it looks like,
that would have been okay, too.
Yes, prevention is better than curing.
