Barclays cycle superhighway is being extended from Bow roundabout to Stratford
new safety measures will be an important part of this extension
including six bus stop by passes for cyclists
this will mean changes for both pedestrians and cyclists
this feature is safer for cyclists as it keeps them in their
own segregated lane allowing them to safely navigate around buses at bus
stops
and mean they don't have to move out into the traffic stream
pedestrians can use the raised crossing point to get to and from the
bus stop
to the main pavement the crossing has clearly
markings and tactile paving pedestrians
should be aware a cyclist before crossing the cycle lane should wait
a cyclist pass I'll cyclists should
also take extra care and look out for pedestrians some pedestrians
wont beware of cyclists approaching and may not be able to move as fast as others
or may not be able to see or hear being aware of each other
will make it easier to share the road space
