2010’s Armed Forces Day celebrations were held in Cardiff on June 26th
Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall
led around 80,000 people in honouring past and present members of all the Armed Forces.
A parade left Cardiff castle and marched through the city to Cardiff Bay.
Servicemen and women of the Royal Navy, Army and Air Force were joined by veterans
and The Royal British Legion’s standard bearers and Riders’ Branch as
His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales took the salute.
Celebrations continued in the Bay with military displays for visitors to experience
and a fly past by the Battle of Britain memorial flight.
HMS Kent was open to visitors and many charity exhibitions were held in its shadow.
Spirits were as high as the temperatures and Cardiff celebrations have set the bar high for Armed Forces Day 2011 in Edinburgh.
