hi I'm AJ Hoge, the director
of Effortless English. Welcome to rule number 3
so, rule number three is very simple
so easy and yet
very very powerful and fast I usually say
this is the number one suggestion number one rule
the most important and so easy and it is this
"learned with your years not your eyes"
Ok if you want to speak excellent English
gotta learn your ears, listening
listening listening and more listening
is key, key to speak
excellent English and most important than. because if you listen a lot
you're gonna learn vocabulary. you will
learn grammar, you will get faster
will understand that. Listening is have magic key
to great english-speaking. There's a lot of research about this
and also the same listening is the most important thing you can do it
so this tells us one reason
you probably have some trouble
with your speaking. WHY? Because again
when you learn English in school, you
probably learned mostly with your EYES.
Most English schools, middle school,
High School, University prided
English schools most them focus on
text books on classroom. I'm sure it's
true for you also. So textbook, textbook, textbook
so that's the problem in school
basically you learned your eyes and basically in school
you learnt to right English
you also learn to think about English. So you know a lot about grammar rules.
back you know more about grammar rules than most americans most canadians
most british people, business leaders don't study that
very much. Native speakers
learns to speak English with their ears and listening, listening, listening
and that's what you must do if you want to speak English quickly, easily,
automatically, correctly just like a native speaker
So I may be a little more specific about listen.
because it's important. how you listen and what you listen to
the most important thing is you must
listen to easy English
it must be EASY. What do I mean by
easy well you should understand
95 percents or more
without stopping and without additional so that's quite easy
right you want a lot easy English listening
now you might try children's programs
you might try children's audio books
or maybe audiobooks
for young teenagers like a
Americans who are 13, 14, 15 years old
if that's too difficult find something
easier, you can listen to programs for very small children.
Now, it's something more difficult you can still use it
but you usually test need to be able to read it
so that all useful you can get
audio article or speech
or a lessons even.
and you have attacked so you can read a lesson
at the same time, that's okay also, but
listening is the most important, listen, listen, listen.
every chance you have getting iPod, can get mp3 players, and iPods.
Listen to English all the time, was in the morning you get up.
Listen when you go to work, when you're at home,
was here at lunch, listen when you're coming home from work,
listen evening, lots and lot and lot
English listening lot up easy
and that's your number one key: listen to podcasts, listen by audio.
and free podcast. listen, listen, listen
Okay!
so it's simple, it easy, and it's supper powerful
please do this focus on LISTENING, not on text books
not a learning by your eyes. learn
with your ears, this is most powerful role.
Okay, that's rule number three
tomorrow you get the next email rule number four
see you there! Bye bye...
