Hi, my name is Dan Kimbrough on behalf of expertvillage.com, in this clip I'm going
to discuss how to play a Boston or a really high hand in the game of spades so that you
could maximize your books. As you can see you got a pretty good hand in front of you,
you got both big jokers, ace, king, queen, jack. The only thing you are missing is the
10, 8, 7, 6 and the 4 of spades which is made up by the fact that you have 2 aces and the
king of hearts. So the way that you want to play this is if you are leading if you are
the first person to go you want to lead with this, you only have one, no way it could be
cut. Lead with at the ace of diamonds that is 1 book, follow with the ace of hearts that
is 2 books, follow with the king of hearts that is 3 books. At this point the way of
the game is played is that you can only lead with a spade, the spades has been broken that
is all you can play. Start with this big joker everyone is going to know at that point what
is about to happen, you are going to go big, little, ace, king, queen, jack, by the time
you get to that 4 people each laying a card you got 5 spades. If each of the persons had
five spades to match you, cause 5x4 is 20, there is not that many in the deck which means
by the time that you get here, no one else has spades which means these are all golden
and you've pulled off your Boston. Now if you are not the person leading and someone
else leads no matter what they lead if it is a ace, I mean a heart or a diamond, you
got the ace you are good to go, you've also got the 10, the king. If they lead a club
you have none, you start cutting and then you start back at the top. The way that you
want to do is once you start playing the spades start at the top, move your way down. Therefore
you don't lay the 5 and the 8 comes out, stops your Boston.
