>>Erik: Do you find blogging is a more accessible form to pop culture than say traditional print
media as both a writer as well as a consumer? >>Mark: I do, right now. Getting something
on a daily basis or a weekly basis or for things like magazines that come out once a
month, those longer form pieces are harder to react to. If you are a real pop culture
junkie it is something as a reader you are taking a look at during the day when you have
breaks. Taking this Kayne West example from the other night. From the time he interrupted
Taylor Swift at roughly 8:10 or so Sunday night, until when he went on Jay Leno 24 hours
later, there have been 4 or 5 iterations to that story by that point in time. He had done
a couple blog entries about it. President Obama had called him a ***. If you are
a real pop culture junkie, someone who likes to interact with those sort of things, the
blog medium is probably the best. It allows for readers and writers to interact together
and readers and readers to interact together.
