I'm Michelle Macgregor, head makeup artist at Makeup Artistry London
and today I'm working with MOXI Makeup to show you how to use the
I1 double-ended brush to create a glam smokey eye makeup
I'm going to start off with a nice mid-warm brown colour
and I'm just going to use the flat angle side of the brush
to create the effect within the socket
and then I'm going to turn it around to the fluffy angled side to blend out
I find it easier to add the dark colours first on the
smokey eye and then to use the lighter colours
Again the angle on the other side of the brush allows me to get into the creases
and to blend out the product nicely
and swapping back to the flat side of the brush
to go into the eye with a bit more product
generally I like to keep the fluffy side of the brush completely clean and dry without any product on it
while I'm working
because then I can use it to blend only and not to add product
I'm also using the side of the flat side of the brush to actually be a bit more precise in where
I'm placing product
You can see the socket line is quite defined. You can use the fluffy side of the brush
Just to really pull out the colour and blend in the socket line area
again there is no product on this side of the brush
so all you're doing is blending out the eye-shadow you've already applied
This is a really good tip for a smokey eye
I'm then going to take a black eye shadow
to create a bit more depth
just in this outside corner
so again I'm using the side of the flat end of the brush just to get a bit more definition
and a precise application
taking the black slightly along the lash line
again using the fluffier angled side of the double-ended brush
I'm using this to blend the black into the brown to create a soft blended finish
I'm going to continue to build up the black to create the desired effect with regards to the depth
of the smokey eye
I'm now going to use a nude pigment to add some highlights
and definition to the inner of the eye
again using the flat side of the brush for the application of the product
and turning the brush round to blend out the product
as I say I'd always recommend keeping this angled
fluffy side of the brush clear of product
and dry. This will allow me to blend seamlessly
I'm then going to take some fine white gold
pigment dust
and place it on the outside and the inside of the eye
This will just give the smokey eye a bit of a pop
and is great for a night out
Again from the outside of the eye up towards the brow bone
I'm taking this fine gold pigment
just on that real inside section
of your eye and slightly under the lower lashes
on that inside
