Your doctor has prescribed the Mirena IUD for birth control. Well there’s some things
that you need to know about Mirena. Hi. I’m Jessica Vertullo and I work at Parker Waichman.
Mirena is an intrauterine contraceptive device which is used to prevent pregnancy for up
to 5 years. Mirena was marketed to women as a birth control that you do not have to remember
to take because it was inserted vaginally. The FDA has warned that Mirena has caused
serious complications. These complications include perforation of the uterus, embedment
into the uterine wall and ***, migration from the uterus outside the uterine wall into
the body, and complications so serious that young women have had to undergo hysterectomies.
Parker Waichman is currently investigating a possible link between rheumatoid arthritis
and Mirena. If you have been experiencing any of these symptoms, what you need to do
is give me a call. Pick up the phone and call me at 1-800-800-9797. I answer questions like
yours every day. Again, my name is Jessica Vertullo and thank you for watching.
