Today, let's learn how to prepare Sweet Vada (Paakam Garelu).
Ingredients to prepare Sweet Vada (Paakam Garelu) :
Black gram, Jaggery, Butter, Sugar, Cardamom, Cherries & Oil.
Soak the Black gram in water for atleast 4 hours.
Grind this to make a thick batter.
Heat Oil in a pan for deep frying.
Add 1 cup Sugar & 1 cup Jaggery in a bowl.
Add 1/2 cup water.
Heat this to make a syrup.
To the thick Vada batter, add little butter.
Mix well.
Take small portions of the batter. Flatten it on a smooth plastic sheet or leaf by sprinkling little water.
Fry these in Oil.
While frying, make small pores on the Vada.
Once cooked, drain the excess Oil & shift to a plate.
Ensure that the Jaggery-Sugar syrup is ready.
Sprinkle Cardamom powder on the syrup.
Add the Vada / Fritters to this syrup.
Once soaked, shift to a serving plate & garnish with Cashewnuts.
