Hello, this is Marie French with Expert Village. Now, we're going to antique our piece. The
reason I like to antique a piece, is it sort of gives it integrity, and kind of keeps it
in that feeling of vintage, so you may or may not want to do this. I like to use liver
of sulfur. It comes in small cubes, and what you do, is put it in warm water. Now let me
just warn you, it stinks. It smells like a rotten egg, and really kind of, liver sulfur
is just like a rotten egg. You can literally take your piece, and put it in a plastic bag
with a rotten egg, and you will antique your piece. You'll also antique your nostrils,
so you could do the liver of sulfur that stinks in a bowl, which you can easily and readily,
get rid of very quickly. You just dunk your piece in. You let it set until it looks like
it's turning very dark brown or black, the blacker the better. Then we're going to take
the piece out, wash it, and wash your hands. I always wear gloves when I do this, and then
what we'll do, is we'll go ahead and polish it with a polishing cloth.
