My name is Diego Merlo, And let me introduce (with ImportMusic Argentina) a series of Sound Libraries
In this particular case the "Genuine Argentino Tango Sounds", developed for Korg Keyboards
This Sound library is compatible with Pa-Series
Pa-600, Pa-800, Pa-3x. Also compatible with Kross, Kronos, and Krome series.
And also compatible with with the legendary KORG M-3.
One of the goals to achieve for this kind of Sound Libraries, is the ability of sampling
all these sound issues that appears before the downbeat. The anticipations
and those stuff that works for giving realism to the synthesis.
Let us hear in first place the "Bandonion" program.
I have control of two basic aspects of the timbre. In one hand the soft and long timbre, Cantabile.
And in the other hand the bandonion short and fast.
Wich is one of the most basic issues to deal with. The instrument, sounds different
when you play fast passages rather than slow phrases.
And also...when you play anticipated notes...
We are hearing this in Kronos, but i can use this in Kross, In Pa-600.
This is the basic set of Program Bandonion. We have a slow timbres and a fast timbres.
But also we could find other production programs of bandonion.
Which is the case of this fast instrument, that has a particular fact.
With the cc# 02 (breath), I can rise or lower the level of the key noises.
With noise.
Without noise.
This has to due with the mechanism.IIf is playing very quick musical phrases...
is not possible to the musician to avoid the key noises.
And for your control, we have programmed this in the joystick (cc#02) in anyone of the keyboards.
We should deal next with the Banonion II. That instrument has a comping role. (playing chords)
In this octave I have Major Chords,
Minor Chords,
Dominant Chords (V7).
We may use this in two ways. With anticipation...
or like single chords.
This is very usefully (you will see in the demo song) to complement the Bandonion I,
It is a second Bandonion tha play chords.
The Double Bass in tango style, has a special sound.
It has a rude sound. And also...
a lot of music stuff works in anticipated manner. Previous to downbeat,
Syncopated Sound in this example...
Or also, Staccatto Arc sound..
We can combine those many sound in a single program...
...and of course we have the pizzicato Sound.
We cant have a Tango Combo completed, unless we use a Guitar.
In this case you will hear a comping program called "Guitar II".
coming next...
In the case of Guitar II, we have worked with the philosophy of a comping guitar
And we have the classic time 8/8 splited in
3 + 3 + 2. for a specific style of tango...
and also another style of more syncopated tango.
We may hear now those chords in 3+3+2 style.
This program is available in the whole KORG keyboard models discussed previously.
And also with a small control change message, (within the same program) I can switch
styles of comping guitar.
and I can switch styles in real time.
This is very usefully for quick demos production..
It´s available in 100 bpm and 80 bpm.. (which are the most used tempos in tango songs.)
We have now completed the Tango Trio
Now we need a Drum.
Of course the drum is not a classic instrument of the old tango style.
But is very scored in modern tango... We will hear right now the Drum Set tool.
For the Drums we have a series of samples (each one of them attached to a key)
Made with rhythm loops plus the single sounds. Plus tons of beds, fills and breaks.
Let´s hear a quick demonstration.
And also the styles more classics. They call the "french" tango style.
All this library works fine with a small Noise Set Program.
It´s a program called "Pelusa" (dirty). Noises that usually produce the instrument
It´s very interesting to hear because it offers realism to the final production,
.
The next program is a Noise program. We have the "cricket" of the violin...
... used as a rhythm effect in many tango songs.
And also several knocks of the body in the bandonion...
Key noises...
And the knocks in the wood body of Double Bass.
With the "Strappatta" fx, which is often used by bass players in tango...
... Used at the end of many phrases.
Now we will hear a demo song that use
all this programs working together.
But I insist. This is the first look of this Tango Sound Library.
From a few others future projects we will develop with ImportMusic Argentina and Korg.
working on ethnic and folk sounds of Latin America.
This libraries are compatible with Kross
...Pa- series, Krome. For Kronos series.
for Pa- 800 and Pa- 3x, and also Korg M3
So let us hear a few demonstrations... with clips of the instruments and a few tango
pics about this library.
