Now probably the most important aspect of a recording project is your budget. That's
how much money you're willing to invest and spend on this project. You need to know how
much you're going to spend before you start because if you start a project and don't have
set goals and set budgets, more than likely you're going to go over budget and find yourself
two thirds of the way through the project with not enough money to complete the project.
This will also determine your time line, as we just saw. So figure out all the available
funds that you have to invest in this project. Maybe other band members, if they're willing
to contribute, or family members if they're willing to give you a loan of a certain amount
or donate some money to record this disc. If you're lucky enough to have a recording
contract with a recording agency, they might give you a set budget and make these choices
for you if you're lucky enough. Now as far as raising this money, you might want to go
to the bank and see if you can get a business loan or a personal loan of some kind that
will meet the needs of your recording project.
