Hi I'm Tristan McCauley from Lucky Seven Tatoo and I am here to talk to you about how to
hide a tongue piercing. First and foremost you want to make sure that you're tongue piercing
is totally healed before you try to take it out. Taking it out can cause trauma to the
area and cause irritation and that can all lead up to an infection so be sure that it
is completely healed before you try to take that out. When trying to hide the jewelry
you have a few options. You can go with a retainer which is something like this which
is a small clear barbell with a soft end on the back of it. This is clear and it sits
flush with the tongue. It is very hard to notice. Another option you have is clear balls.
These will screw right on to the end of your barbell. They are not as discreet as the retainer
but they do the job. But like I said again make sure it is totally healed before you
try to change it out and after you change it out you want to make sure to clean it out
like you did right after you had it pierced. Just keep cleaning it for the first couple
of weeks and that is how you hide a tongue piercing.
