I carefully think about always being positive to the students
because nobody likes negative comments about them.
I'm very conscious of someone saying, 'Oh, you've done this well, but...'
And it's always that 'but' that you focus on.
You forget about the things that you've done well.
And you always have to try and think about being positive
in what you're saying because if you don't,
the kids will just focus on the negative
and that's a real shame because teaching's meant to be fun
and I hope that my teaching's fun
and at the end of the day when they walk out of the door
that they've had a good, entertaining time
as well as learning about things
and it also helps with the behaviour management
and their thoughts about how well they're doing in the subject.
And if you think that you're doing well
and that actually increases your attainment
because you want to do more.
Rather than you think, 'I've done this and this and this well but...'
