At Kenilworth elementary school in the Washington, D.C. suburbs, the student body is in motion.
Students: yay! The students' bodies -- and minds - are the focus of the National Football
League's "Fuel Up To Play 60" program. It encourages kids to combine daily activity
with healthy eating. I just encourage you to get outside, have fun, work hard, play,
at least 60 minutes a day. The NFL and its partner, the U.S. Department of Agriculture,
came to promote a new part of play-60 called "Make your Move." Now it's time to see your
move, let me see what you can do! Linebacker Darryl Tapp of the Washington Redskins helped
to pick this school's winning movers. Crowd: yayy! And USDA Under Secretary Kevin Concannon
dished out a little learning with the exercise. The food we eat is the fuel that our bodies use,
to both exercise and to learn. So eating healthy food really is important, and exercise along
with it, to use up that fuel.Concannon oversees the USDA school meals programs, which are
emphasizing healthier options -- more fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains and
less fat.Are the meals good at Kenilworth school? (yaay!) Fantastic! Well, that is great
because we want you to eat healthy every day so you learn better. In Bowie, Maryland for
the U.S. Department of Agriculture, I'm Pat O'Leary.
