I'm Lachy O'Brien, I'm a T2 incomplete and I'm going to show you how to do couch transfers.
Approach the couch on an angle,
move your left foot forward
depending on how you feel comfortable, with either both of them off the footplate or one off.
Then lean forward to the edge of your chair, so you're close there.
Move your foot forward or off, whatever you like.
Your left hand,
or the non-lifting hand is far away,
and your lifting hand very close to you,
so you've got plenty of room to land, and it's plenty of room for power.
Then lean forward, like so, and then
distribute your weight to your left hand and then fall down slowly.
Back up to the chair.
Move close to the ledge
Put your... either your... how you like it: one foot on the footplate or no feet at all,
put them close.
Put your left hand as close as you can, for power,
your right hand -- fist -- flat hand, whatever you like,
and put it far away so your bum doesn't land on your hand and hurt your wrist.
Then lean forward
and lift up, giving your bum plenty of room so it can slide up, and then
that's it!
