[Bill Harding] I was gaining weight, I was not in the shape that I wanted to be in and
I told myself by the time I turned 60 I wanted to be in good shape, and right now I feel
like I'm in better shape than when I was 50.
[Dr. Ali Afrookteh] What I've found is over the years we treat a lot of hypertension,
diabetes, people with cholesterol, heart problems, and what we've found is that medicines can
only go so far. And what we're trying to do at ProMotion Fitness is we're trying to improve
people's lives through exercise.
[Janie Crone] I have arthritis, I have psoriatic arthritis so I get very stiff and tight and
if I don't move I get really stiff, but this keeps me loose, definitely loose, it just
definitely all over feel better. Without it, it's not a good feeling when I don't do it.
We're looking for the middle-aged to older patient who has some significant medical issues,
maybe they have some fear about getting back into exercise, they've never done it before,
and they also have issues with their health problems that the average instructor in a
gym wouldn't know about, where our staff here is well-trained to deal with that.
[Mark Crone] It makes you feel safe and secure exercising, they teach you how to do it properly
and they're there to monitor you because as you get older I do have times where I feel
like if you would have, try to overdo it or something, not necessarily intentionally,
but they're there and they're always willing to help and it's like having a personal trainer
with you every time you work out. That's a big plus for me.
It's bright, it's cheery, we've got great staff, support, everyone's looking forward
to working with you, helping you achieve your goals. It's not like you're coming to a program
where you have to keep up with a group or you're trying to impress anybody, you work
at your own pace.
I definitely have a lot more stamina as far as walking, climbing stairs, I breathe better,
I just feel totally in better shape. All my numbers bloodwork-wise are definitely coming
down, which I knew they would and my doctor's happy with it and tells me to keep up the
good work.
It's not going to cost them more than a regular gym and once they get in here I think they
find the facility is welcoming. Many people feel they have a social connection between
both the staff and the other patients that are exercising here, so I think we do a great
job with keeping people long-term.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. It's at your own pace, they
start you out and you just - you work at how much you can do and it's amazing how you do,
your stamina increases, and you do do more you know you just find yourself as you're
going along, hey, this is really working! It's a gradual thing, but it works.
